DESCRIPTION:(LA COMARCA) El Grupo de Estudios Calandinos (GREC) recibirá la Medalla Calandria 2024 por «su excelente trayectoria y su inestimable trabajo en pro de mantener y poner en valor la cultura\, las tradiciones y el patrimonio arquitectónico del municipio». El pleno celebrado el pasado jueves aprobó por unanimidad la condecoración\, que se entregará el próximo 11 de octubre\, a las 11.00\, en un acto institucional. El secretario de la asociación\, Manuel Conesa\, asistió a la sesión plenaria para ser testigo del momento y tanto el alcalde\, Alberto Herrero (PP)\, como el portavoz del PSOE\, José Ángel Galve\, le agradecieron su labor y extendieron su felicitación al resto de integrantes del GREC. \nHerrero recordó que el Ayuntamiento creó la Medalla Calandria hace cinco años «con el objetivo de reconocer anualmente a una institución o persona física que trabaja por el bien de la localidad». «El equipo de Gobierno ha decidido entregársela este año al Grupo de Estudios Calandinos de forma unánime. Estamos muy orgullosos de ellos. Solo puedo darles las gracias\, porque su trabajo ha puesto todavía más si cabe en valor nuestra cultura\, patrimonio y tradiciones»\, expresó el alcalde. Además\, anunció que\, más allá de la colaboración económica que se lleva a cabo desde 2022\, el Consistorio se ha comprometido a que el GREC disponga el próximo año de un local propio en la parte de arriba del edificio donde se ubica el Centro de Interpretación de la Semana Santa.
